The real reason why tropical storm [sic] 10 was not named Irma is b/c it was never classified as a tropical cyclone; only as a 'potential' tropical cyclone.

Once the storm's wind speed met the threshold for a tropical storm (39 MPH) ... it no longer had tropical characteristics (energy derived from evaporation and heating from condensation; wind speed decreasing with height) but had taken on extra-tropical characteristics (energy derived from horizontal ... mid-level temperature gradients and warm air advection; wind speed increasing with height).

FUN FACT #1: 'Extra-tropical' means outside of the tropics

FUN FACT #2: TD trolls haven't a clue

Anonymous, the tradition for many years has been to alternate male and female names. The list of names is chosen in advance. Storm 10 has not yet passed all the requirements to have a name, but it probably will soon.

Why the f*ck would it be name Irma? I mean, there aren't any reasons it would or wouldn't, so…… what the f*ck

Because liberals don't like the tradition of giving them female names. Liberalism is worse than tropical storms.
