I just learned this the other day, its such a gnarly fact especially cause I was always sort of curious about this before. So in Spain, they speak the Spanish language a bit peculiarly. In words with the letter "S" instead of pronouncing it "sss" as in snake like every other Spanish speaker and therefore English speakers from around the world, they replace it with the "th" sound. In other words, they don't pronounce Barcelona, "barselona" like all normal people do, they'd pronounce it "barthelona" for example.

The whole reason behind it the part that's crazy. Way back when, they had a king that had a speech impairment that made him replace the "s" sound with the "th" sound and instead of just letting that stop with him, everyone decided to speak it like he did so that's why they speak it that way to this day. So insane and stupid!
