erosion and deposition with longshore drift and waves?

    longshore drift is just migration along the general direction of current, with the current reflecting the direction of the waves hitting the shore at an angle. Erosion "upstream" and deposition "downstream". Usually end up seeing erosion of the headlands and infilling of bays as time goes on. It is how waves even out the shore.

    Both happen, waves erode and transport material laterally in the case of longshore drift
