If you were graduate student and received an email from a potential applicant, how would you respond?

I attempted to do this three times, and last two was the suggestion from the director of that program. I understand that they are busy, but it's been over two weeks and I have heard nothing.

It makes me feel like I gave off a bad impression with my email.

I would much appreciate any help in making sense of this because I just heard back from a job and was rejected, and now I'm just feeling SUPER self-conscious. I will get over it, but for now, thoughts (on the question)?

Update:

@Emily: I know not to just send a barrage of questions. I just asked if they were open for a brief informational interview. I already did such an interview with the director, and she was the one forwarded me to them.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have three email addresses assigned by various colleges. I have never logged into any one of them in the last 4 years, not even while attending classes. I have my own non school email that I use for all things. It is very possible that the students are not actively using the email that you sent it too. It is also possible that they do not recognize your name and don't bother to respond.

And now we know why you didn't get hired.

An applicant is the person that fills out an application. You are the applicant if you are looking for a job. An employer gets résumés from potential applicants.

So if you want to get hired then you need to know how to use words correctly otherwise it could lead to a misunderstanding and cost the company lots of money.

A graduate student is someone who is in an advanced degree program after graduating from college. A college graduate is someone who finished college but is not enrolled in a university for an advanced degree.

What did you ask them? If you sent a barrage of questions about the school, they probably just didn't have time to answer. Graduate students are not responsible for recruiting for a university- they have no obligation to answer email from people who haven't been admitted yet.
