My house has wall paper in the living room, kitchen and family room. Would painters be able to remove them if I hired them to paint?

That's not a painter's job, not to mention it would be expensive for them to do it. Hire a Handyperson to do it if you can't do it yourself.

That's not solely a painters job but there's no harm in asking them. Although many of the painters also do the wall paper removal. I've got mine wall paper fixed by a Painter as well.

They can't hang you for asking. But I can say that it is a formidable additional task. Steam equipment makes it fairly easy, then the walls need additional patching and priming before they can be painted.
