Hurricane coming. Should I go to work?
I'm in one of the areas where hurricane Irma will be hitting hard tomorrow. My whole area is under flood warnings. All of the schools and most businesses have been closed. My boyfriend's boss called him and told him it's better if they shut down everything for a day. My mothers job did the same. I work in a factory. But my boss still feels we should all come in for a full workday. I have to drive over an hour to get there and I don't have the best tires.
Should I go in or call out tomorrow? I might get written up of fired if I don't come in....but comuting sounds pretty dangerous.

That would probably be some kind of violation of law in some way. like you can't force a employee todo something that makes them feel indangered thats not in their job description so you should be fine like thats just unreasonable.
Worst you should expierence is slightly less pay

It's not worth it bro, this is a category 5 hurricane, definitely not something to mess around with. If you get fired, then so be it. Shame on your boss, that he can't be considerate of the fact that people die with these type of things. It's not worth gambling your life, what would be worst? Getting fired? Or losing your life where you'll never have a chance to get another job or support your family, leaving them to provide for themselves.
