I am in the philippines and I want to go to USA to meet my friend, what are the things that i should do and how do i go there?

Double check this with your state department, but if your staying less then 30 days you probably only need a valid pass port, if your staying longer, you need a tourist visa, but getting a tourist visa is not like getting a school or work visa there are not interviews or anything you can do it online

You will need to apply for a tourist visa.

To get that visa, you need to show the US govt you have sufficient funds for your trip and MOST IMPORTANTLY you will return to the Phils at the end of your trip.

The 2nd part is the difficult part as you will need to convince the officer that you will go home.

You cannot get a visa to go the US f you only want to meet somebody. You must have a job waiting for you (& the employer must prove that he cannot find somebody to do the same work).

It is almost impossible to get a tourist visa. You must have a long time job, long time money in the bank, own property & prove you will not overstay & will return to the Philippines.
