Question about a recurring nightmare i have.?

I have this nightmare ive had for years, Ive no idea what it means or whats its purpose is.

In the nightmare Im in a city, a huge city like new york and there are people everywhere, but they are not moving, every single person is just staring up at the sky.

So i look up to see what everyone is looking at and i see this huge comet in the sky, bearing down on us, and i know this is the end for us all.

But then i start looking at all the people and i notice this kid, just a young kid, like maybe 5 or 6, hes staring up at this comet with a look of amazement in his eyes, hes too young to understand whats going on.

Then the comet hits the Earth, far from where we are but then the ground shakes, and in the distance i can see the fire, its spreading quickly and there is no escape.

As i look around everyone is burning, their bodies turn to ash and dust, and this kid just stares at the fire, not afraid or scared, just amazed, eventually the fire gets so bright i close my eyes and wait for the end. But the end doesn't come for me, when i open my eyes everyone is gone, they been turned to ash, and on the ground where this kid was standing, i can see a shadow that has burned into the ground. I know that everyone in the world has gone, and now its just me alone on the earth. Then i wake up.

I know this sounds weird but i just felt like sharing, This dream doesn't really scare me anymore i just have no idea what it means. If it means anything at all.
