A form of worship. It includes a system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices; these may be personal, or they may be advocated by an organization.

Usually religion involves belief in God or in a number of gods; or it treats humans, objects, desires, or forces as objects of worship.

Much religion is based on human study of nature; there is also revealed religion. There is true religion and false.

One dictionary defines religion as the expression of man’s belief in and reverence for a superhuman power recognized as the creator and governor of the universe.

if one accepts religion as being devotion to some principle; strict fidelity or faithfulness; conscientiousness; pious affection or attachment, then most people, including atheists and agnostics, do have some form of religious devotion in their lives.

Do think that religion is against God, because the definition as described by poldi 2 is usually not followed in many religious bodies.

Believers today often use the word "religion" in a new way -- to point to the fake.

But a portion of older people and some that don't like that new definition don't know that, or refuse to use the word this new way.

Of course, this new meaning is not in a typical dictionary yet.
