Why doesn t the L.A. County fair allow you to bring your own chair?

My dad has really, really bad back pain and so he brings his chair everywhere he s expected to do a lot of walking or standing. However when we tried to enter the fairgrounds today he was instantly denied without question. What gives?

A full sized "folding chair"? I am actually surprised that this is the first time he has had an issue. The reason is for safety and security reasons.

As mentioned if he really has a hard time standing for long periods he needs to look into a wheelchair. As an alternative look at Portable Walking Chairs. Basically they are a Cane that folds out to a stool. He may still get denied entry into some places, but for the most part they should not deny entry as that is also an assistance device. I put a link to one below, but there are dozens of versions you can chose, they range in price from about $20-$70.

I can understand why a folding chair is not allowed. They can not have people wondering about carrying them or setting them up anywhere. A bunch of people carrying lawn chairs throughout the fair, someone is going to get hit.

You need to rent a wheelchair. He can hang on to it walking and then sit when needed. They can not deny a wheelchair enterance.
