I'm 16, how many bottles of water should I drink?

I drink 1 bottle of 400ml usually a day. It feels not enough but I don't want to go over the top. I've heard 8 is good. How many should I drink that isn't a bad amount as I don't want to overfill

The recommendation used to be to drink 8, 8ounce glasses of water a day (or 64 total ounces). Guidelines have changed and now it's suggested that as long as you aren't thirsty, you're probably getting enough. Also, all the water in the foods and other beverages that you consume, count toward your total daily water intake.

You're free to use the 64 ounce guideline, as it's a decent goal to shoot for, but most people are actually recommended to get more (especially if you're active or spend a lot of time in the heat).

Do some research on recommended daily water intake to get additional info on the subject.

Yes, 8 eight ounce glasses a day is what's best. You should be drinking 64 ounces per day total. That equates to just under 1893ml. You're currently only getting about 1/4 of what you need!

You only need enough to keep you from being thirsty.

About 8 glasses or 2 litres is fairly average so about 5 of your water bottles.

Its unlikely you could drink "too much" water.

The recommended minimum has little or no scientific evidence but most "experts" seem to agree that about 30 oz is a good minimum and that 48 oz is a good optimum. And it depends a lot on the weather and your activity level. I frequently get up to 60.

I guess it depends on the quality of your tap water, but I never drink bottled water. Its pricey and not good for the environment. I mostly drink cups of water right from the faucet. For instance, first thing i do before even brushing my teeth is drink a glass of water. I do have a Brita water pitcher in the frig for ice water. And I drink coffee and iced tea daily and count that as well.
