Christians: Why should anyone respect the idea of faith in your religion?

Faith is just believing in something because you want to - if you had evidence then faith wouldn't be required. Why would any sane, rational person believe the biggest question in the world on faith?

Ultimately evolutionists want their religion of secularism and atheism—worldviews which are already being taught in public school classrooms—to be the only religion these students are exposed to. Of course, they claim that atheism is not a religion, but it is! In their worldview, they have faith that somehow the universe came into existence and by natural processes life arose—that is their belief system, their religion.

Dr. Michael Ruse is a philosopher of science, particularly of the evolutionary sciences.

“Evolution is promoted by its practitioners as more than mere science. Evolution is promulgated as an ideology, a secular religion—a full-fledged alternative to Christianity, with meaning and morality. . . . Evolution is a religion. This was true of evolution in the beginning, and it is true of evolution still today.”

This is an incredible admission: the study of the origin and development of life-forms on earth is not “mere science,” but “a secular religion.”

Quoting you: " Why should anyone respect the idea of faith in your religion? " You have no explanation for the universe and everything in it, which is just another display of the bankruptcy of evolutionary thinking. You really can't talk about how a species evolved until you explain the matter that supposedly started the species. You must have a lot of blind faith.

Seriously, you don't know the difference in faith and "blind faith"? You have no concept of true faith when you form your beliefs from unfounded unsupported OPINION. How could anyone "respect" that idea? You do. How delusional is that?

The concept of “blind faith” is a recent invention, found nowhere in Scripture. If you go back to God’s Word, you’ll find that the Hebrew word for faith, by its very definition, refers to a logical, robust, unwavering confidence in the truth.

    C. H. Spurgeon said it beautifully

Faith abhors conjectures, it will not put its foot down upon fictions, but rests upon matters of fact. Faith never deals in the imaginary goods of opinion, theory, speculation, and probability; she searches for the priceless pearl of certainty; she needs to know.

It is not my choice whether you "respect" this or that or me. I have no control or knowledge of why you think the way you do, but you can't tell me either because you've never confirmed a thing and have no fact. All you have is "blind faith" in something that you cannot describe or even say what it is. What was the first species called that "evolved"? There's a big difference in stories of OPINION and actual science with evidence in fact.

Quoting you: "Why would any sane, rational person believe the biggest question in the world on faith?" Which one? Abiogenesis? The lies of evolution and the supporting myth of billions of years; all OPINION? Or the truth and accuracy and evidences of the Bible with verifiable fact?

Let’s apply ordinary scientific techniques to the study of living systems. When it comes to the origin of life, which view is the more logical inference from our scientific observations? Time, chance, and the evolution of matter? Or plan, purpose, and special acts of creation? The evidence points to Creation. Real science confirms the Bible.

Concerning which system is the most adequate for explaining external reality, the possibility of knowledge, a relevant and binding ethic, and the significance of man, the answer should be obvious: only the worldview presupposing the truth claims of the Bible is sufficient for the task.

Seriously, what is it you have faith in, what is it you trust, what is the evidence that makes you think like you do, and why in the world would anyone respect you?

The fact of the matter, there are a lot of intelligent people in this world, but many are blind, because they do not have their eyes opened to the truth of God Holy Word the Bible, only, and many will perish because of unbelief of God Holy Word the Bible, most people put there trust in science, which is man made, and science is only a theory, yes science has done some good, but it also has done a lot of evil in this world also, because telling people the earth is billions or millions of years old is an out right lie, the earth from creation is 13,00029 years the date 11013 B.C. when God created the heaven and the earth by speaking. You will never have faith in God, unless God open your eyes to truth, because you are like the scribes and the Pharisees who seek after a sign from God. read Matthew 16:4 a wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Also you can not come to God unless God draws you to him, so you can do all the works in the world, but God the Father does not draw you to the son Jesus Christ, than you can not become saved, it is entirely God work, Ephesians 2:8 read Galatians 5:17-23 read James 3:6-8 read Hebrews 4:12

It is a pain that you truly do not understand what faith is. There is no real faith without plenty of evidence (Hebrews 11:1). And Jehovah wants us to have that evidence (Ezekiel 33:11; John 17:3). Our senses and creation show us that love exists (Psalms 14:1; Romans 1:20; 1 John 4:8). And the basis for true Christianity is love (John13:35).

Nobody should. It is not a respectable concept. It is pure pretense by definition, a lie. Why would anyone respect a lie like that one? Faith is just another word that means pretense.

You don't have to respect anything. Either you're a respectful person or you're not. It's generally the way your raised but not always. I always respect the opinions of people who don't believe in what I believe in even if I disagree.

Everyone has faith in something-even atheists.

  • A quarter of the world's population understands it. The fact that you don't doesn't make you a sane rational person. There are a lot of people who can't get their heads around mathematics, but they tend not to trumpet their ignorance on the internet.
