In Houston is Overtime paid as hour-and a half required? Or can it just be paid as a normal hour?

It doesn't matter what city you're in, it depends on the business and of course you should know that overtime is typically after 40 hours but again full-time could also be considered 30 hours. Again this is dependent on where you work. But I guess you are too dense to have thought to actually ASK your boss! Wow! How did you ever manage to get employed?

Overtime is over 40 hrs. per week, not over 8 hrs. per day. So if you worked 10 hrs. one day but didn't work over 40 for the week, you don't get overtime pay (unless it is in a union contract).
