Basically loss of limbs and heart attack - My partner and I are both diabetics but I follow healthy diet and exercise but partner is overweight, eats junk food and no exercise and he does get leg ulcers but he thinks he will be fine but he got a shock this weak - Tuesday night stomach pains, chest pain, unable to breath and felt as thought eye were going to burst out his head, went to ER, after various checks it was bad indigestion and panic attack and today he got treadmill test for heart and blood pressure, thankfully all was clear but blood pressure slightly high but it has given him the shock he needed as he has decided to join the gym eat healthy and lose weight as he doesn't want to die at 56 years old, is this the type of shock your husband is waiting for? Good Luck

He could go blind, develop gangrene, suffer cardiac problems.
Has he got life insurance, because unless he changes his way of life he will need it soon.
But what do you do to help? do you feed him junk?

He could consider going on a low carb diet. Like Atkins. Many people in my facebook group, It's a Low Carb-Atkins Life for Us are diabetic. This diet has worked wonders for a lot of them. Many no longer take meds at all. Others have been able to reduce their med doses.
He can join the page to see what he thinks. It's a great, drama-free group. everyone willing to answer questions
