End of probate, US, WA. TiIN for probate, how to let IRS know its' done.?

    If you filed a form 706 theIRS will send you a closing letter.

    Probate isa state and local issue. I assume that you filed federal and state fiduciary income tax returns for income and expenses during the probate period. When you file the final probate papers and distribute all assets you would final the last fiduciary income tax returns.There isa box at the top of page 1 that you check that this is the final return.

    As long as taxes are filed and paid they don't need to know and don't care.
