Christians: Why do a lot of you always link to biased websites when asked for evidence of your 'god' claims?

Surely you should know the evidence without needing to refer to websites, right? It's amusing how those sites don't actually have evidence, too... if they had evidence then they'd be world-famous. Don't any of you have a shred of honesty or are you just all happy to lie?

Update:

It always amuses me how they get their knickers in a twist when cornered. When will they learn that assertions do not equal facts?

They sure can't use facts, as facts refute them. So they are forced to either abandon that superstition, or lie to support it. It is their only choice.

"Always" and "never" statements are often false and should be avoided.

What I see here (in your question) is an attempt to slay the messenger because you can not actually refute the information.

I for one seldom use a link to a site to prove a point. Some times I might use one as supporting data. I also do it because it would be an intellectual error to suggest the concept or information is my own work by doing a cut and paste.

One last point- your tude is one reason I avoid some questions. Clearly this question is not about actually getting an answer. It is about a desire to some how provide yourself with self affirmation to prove yourself worth.

Stefan my friend, let's cut to the chase, Christians much like atheists don't believe in any gods either, but we do believe in Yahweh - God as Christians understand Him and Here are His terms, which are non negotiable:- Accept that you are a sinner in need of redemption. Truly repent and confess your sins to God. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and be born again of the Holy Spirit. God will then make Himself known to you in a first-hand, purely unique and personal way. Scoffers and mockers of Christianity just like yourself Stefan, at last, an opportunity to find out for yourself that The God of the Bible does truly exist. What are you waiting for?

There is NO EVIDENCE for christ or for any gods.

That's why they go to their brainwash websites.

The best place to use to give evidence of what God claims would be the Bible. It's full of quotes of God saying lots of things to lots of people over the centuries. Those people then wrote that down. You don't need a website to find out God's claims - just a Bible! Bit a few minutes ago I read this person's comment to his question about how a god could be non-material.

"I only block the bad communicators/ranters/ones who paste bible quotes as answers".

That's atheist-speak for "I block answers that I don't like because I'm too biased to take time to examine claims." As it will be a waste of my time quoting the Bible or giving Christian website links to that guy, I shall avoid his questions, and I suppose it would equally be a waste of my time answering yours. (But go on - prove me wrong by giving me best answer!)

It's very difficult, maybe impossible to have unbiased sites when discussing religion. I visit Catholic, Protestant and atheist sites. I'm aware that each site is biased and take that into account when determining the site's credibility on a certain issue.

I'm a Christian and am aware of my bias. I'm as objective as I can be. How successful I am in this endeavor I don't know.

Just because a site is biased doesn't mean that it has nothing worthwhile to say.

I could say the same thing about evolution believers [who, for some reason, behave as if R & S is their 2nd home].

At the end of the day, Stefan, what constitutes evidence for me will not necessarily constitute evidence for you.

So, instead, I'll quote the views of former prominent atheist Prof. Antony Flew:

"The integrated complexity of life itself – which is far more complex than the physical Universe – can only be explained in terms of an Intelligent Source. I believe that the origin of life and reproduction simply cannot be explained from a biological standpoint despite numerous efforts to do so. With every passing year, the more that was discovered about the richness and inherent intelligence of life, the less it seemed likely that a chemical soup could magically generate the genetic code. The difference between life and non-life, it became apparent to me, was ontological and not chemical."

He adds, "What I think the DNA material has done is that it has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce (life), that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinarily diverse elements to work together. It’s the enormous complexity of the number of elements and the enormous subtlety of the ways they work together. The meeting of these two parts at the right time by chance is simply minute. It is all a matter of the enormous complexity by which the results were achieved, which looked to me like the work of intelligence."

His conclusion was that if you wanted to call that intelligence "God," that was fine with him.

Some need more information as to proof of God's existence and these websites should provide such, but in your case I will give my personal opinion. God left His footprint in everything He created, follow it!

I am a believer and I agree with you. There isn't one piece of tangible evidence of god's existence. No photo, no voice recording, no talk show appearances. Nothing. Nothing that would be proof enough for an unbeliever to change their mind. The bible, that old standby, is not proof. However, I see proof every day, in the world around me, and the skies above me. It's enough for me. Peace.

And YOU link to biased websites that support YOUR world view. Where is YOUR evidence?

Personally, I have, with OUT linking to a website, provided evidence that you hypocrites reject! If you don't want the evidence, don't ask for it. That is, after all, a form of hypocrisy.

But to set the record straight, Jesus gave us an objective "litmus test" that I have shared countless times. The hypocrites who ask for the evidence reject it, so quit whining!

If Jesus never existed, then nothing will happen.

If Jesus was a liar, then nothing will happen.

If Jesus was a lunatic, then nothing will happen.

If Jesus was just another ordinary man, then nothing will happen.

If the Bible is nothing more than the writings of some crazy bronze-aged, goat-herding cave men as the atheist mockers keep insisting, then nothing at all will happen.

In other words, to the atheists who claim there is no evidence, PUT UP OR SHUT UP! Actions speak louder than words, so put your money where your mouth is! Take the challenge Jesus gave and prove Him wrong!

(Note: For anyone who flat out rejects this test, I have to remind them of some other words Jesus said. Jesus said that the reason people reject God is “because they are evil (their deeds are evil), and they love darkness (i.e. they love their sins and immorality), and they hate the light (i.e. they hate Truth)!” The only reason they don't believe in God is because they don't WANT to believe in God, and for no other reason, and their mind is set in concrete, and their theme song is "Don't confuse me with Truth; my mind's already made up!")

In his famous book “Mere Christianity”, C. S. Lewis makes the following observation: “I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: ‘I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.’ That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic--on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg--or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great moral teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

(Note: I have posted the challenge many times, so I didn't bother posting it again just for you to reject it again! Jesus said "Do not cast pearls before swine!" )
