Why do people still believe low carb diets are healthy?

I went from 205 to 172 pounds in under a month just counting my calories eating balanced meals exercising .I eat a lot of carbs. My carbs are mainly oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes and cream of wheat but still .

    Low carb is not healthy at all and people are just brainwashed by what we've been told. Carbs are your source of energy. Without carbs you don't have energy. Low carb diets are terrible for you and will leave you feeling tired and upset and jumping from one fad diet to the next

    The carbs you are eating are not that bad. Sugar is the worst. Low carb diets are not unhealthy as any credible low carb diet is high in raw vegetables which have carbs in them. The problem with calorie restrictive diets is that they slow your metabolism and your body reacts to a lack of nutrients that come from calories by consuming lean body mass instead of fat. Your body produces a couple of hormones that regulate hunger and fat burning. Leptin and Grehlin. These hormones get triggered when you eat carbs and lower your calorie intake causing you to feel hungry and put your body into a starvation mode where fat is conserved over lean body mass. Some people, very few, are successful with calorie restriction diets. Over 95% wind up gaining their weight back and often adding several more pounds (Yoyo dieting). I wish you the best of success, but if things don't work out you might want to rethink your plan.

    Low carb (as long as it's not *no* carbs) are perfectly healthy. It's just not the only way to reach your objective.

    Low carb vs high carb doesn't really make a huge difference, as long as you consider high-quality food in both cases.

    I see most of your carbs are healthy carbs. but even so I bet you were hungry doing it, and I also bet if you upped your calorie intake the weight would come right back.
