Any new electric cooktops available that require only a 30 amp circuit (220v)?

That was sufficient for our old one installed in 1993. The new ones I viewed in store or online all require 40 amps or even more. In my case a wiring upgrade alone would cost about $1000.

40A STOVE IS OK TO RUN WITH 30A POWER SOURCE PROVIDED YOU DO NOT TURN ON ALL 4 STOVES AND OVEN AT THE SAME TIME AT HIGH POWER THAT CONSUMES NEAR 40A CURRENT.

Don't know what the codes are, but...

That 40 amps is probably with all the 'burners' running full. Practically, if you connect it to the 30 amp circuit (leave the wires, leave the 30 amp breaker), you could probably use 2 or 3 of the 'burners' without tripping the breaker. If you turn them all on, you will need to do a reset.

But again, I don't know how this would mesh with the codes.
