Therapy Dogs are dogs that are highly trained and certified by trainers to go into hospitals/nursing homes and provide comfort for the patients.

Emotional Support Animals are dogs or other animals that have had NO training. They are allowed in non-pet housing and allowed to fly in the cabin of an airplane free of change. To qualify for an Emotional Support Animal you must have a Mental Disorder such as anxiety, depression, etc. For an Emotional Support Animal to be considered legal you must have a signed letter from your psychiatrist or doctor.

Emotional Support Animals DO NOT have the same rights as Service Dogs and ARE NOT allowed into the general public where pets are not allowed.

Basically an ESA is nothing more than a pet, with the same restrictions as any other pet that a mental health provider may recommend one for a person that is considered disabled their mental health condition.

A therapy dog visits nursing homes, hospices only if invited to those facilities and must past pass the testing for Good Citizenship. They are also just pets with the same restrictions when they aren't invited to these facilities.

LOL. You're a kid and you suffer from "depression"? You have yet to learn what REAL depression is. Go play with your tinker toys.

ESAs are just pets and are the adult version of a security blanket. We don't have them in the UK, it's just in the USA people have them because they think they have the right to take their beloved pet everywhere so stick a label on it. Therapy dogs are well trained and visit patients in hospitals.

ESA so nothing but act like severely unhealthy crutches for people who refuse to get any better and think they the right to have a pet no matter what and have a right ot take it any where they want when an ESA is a pet by law and is not allowed in schools, business and any place a pet is not allowed

Therapy dogs are pets that are well trained, well behaved and passed the CG test and enter hospital and the like with permission to make other people feel good
