What fluid does my rear diff take?
I have a 2000 silverado i have to put a new rear axle shaft seal on, in order to do that i will be draining my rear diff. But i do not know what goes back in, please inform me!

Don't be a moron, you forgot to mention the gasket also. Why not buy all three at the parts store when you get the seal. dddddddddddddddUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Yahoo Answers is overrun by trolls and ignoramuses, so if you have the basic skills needed to use Yahoo Answers then you certainly have the basic skills to do an internet keyword search, as well as the ability to go to any auto parts store and ask what rear axle lubricant to use. You're going to have to go there to buy some anyway. They'll probably tell you to buy SAE 75W-90 Synthetic.

When you go to the auto parts store to buy differential fluid, they will tell you. Or, I could say 75W90 and you could use that. Buy synthetic.
