The ethyl alcohol in "gasohol" burns to form CO2 and H2O.

If the combustion reaction consumes 7.271 moles of C2H5OH reacting with excess O2, how many grams of H2O are formed?

Please explain thank u!

    Balance the equation:

    C2H5OH + O2 --> 2CO2 + 3H2O

    So, 7.271 moles of C2H5OH makes 21.813 moles of H2O

    Now multiply by the molecular weight of H2O to find grams (and use four significant figures in the molecular weight).
