An unopened canned DAK ham has been in my kitchen cabinet for approximately a year. The expiration date is 2/24/2020.?

The expiration date is 2/24/2020.

Do these canned hams really stay fresh for so long? Would you eat the ham? Thank you.

Yep, perfectly safe- they are canned in order to preserve them for a long time, so eat it now, or eat it later.

it should be safe until the expiration date, then after that it could be questionable about eating it

As long as the can is not bulging ( signs of botulism) , it should be fine.

I would use it during the upcoming Holidays.

Canned food lasts many years, your ham will be good many years after 2020.

thats not an expiration date, its a best if used by date.

Its canned, vacuum sealed. why would it spoil...would you question it if it were a can of tuna? Or canned chicken. Same difference..they are both meat.

You bet I would eat it.

If the can isn't leaking, not bulging or rusted, I would use it in a heartbeat.

They are not "fresh" - they are preserved. And yes, they will last that long, and longer.
