.345 g of an unknown organic acid are dissolved in about 30ml of water. The solution is titrated with 15.85 ml of .138M sodium hydroxide. What is the molar mass of the unknown acid?

    Supposing the unknown acid to be monoprotic:

    (0.01585 L) x (0.138 mol/L NaOH) x (1 mol acid / 1 mol NaOH) = 0.0021873 mol acid

    (0.345 g acid) / (0.0021873 mol acid) = 158 g/mol acid
