Religious people: What is the moment in your life that truly cemented your faith, your belief, forever?
See title.
I am agnostic, and curious to hear about your experiences with religion.
For the people who may come here, to say "religion is a lie", please, don't bother. That is not answering the question, it's only continuing the endless, pointless fight between believer and non-believer. No side will ever win. The argument will never end.
So please don't do that on this question.
Troll replies will be treated as trolls and reported. you are warned.

It was when I began confirming the evidences of the Bible, and realized ALL evidences I was given in the Genesis are verifiable. I do not rely on opinion and will provide just a small sampling of the evidences of the Bible; about 20 for you here.
The Bible is full of more evidence than most people can confirm in a lifetime, and we're still confirming as science also continues to confirm the Bible.
Okay then, I had been taught through several college degrees that paleontology gives the bulk of the evidence for evolution. To my surprise, I found that evidence is lacking not only in genetics but also in paleontology, as well as in sedimentology, in dating techniques, and in fact in all sciences. Where can anyone find actual evidence in the present concerning ancient history? Almost nowhere except in the Bible. Everybody else passes the buck, "oh it's this guy" but he points to another guy, "maybe it's the geologist that has the evidence or needs billions of years", nope not needed here, he points to the biologist. Ah finally, here is the need for biilions of years, so their evolutionary model will have sufficient time to work. Ta-da, nice try, but in the meantime it all destroyed everything I believed with confusion and doubt. Like most atheists, I was one messed up cookie, didn't know what to believe.
So where do you find truth? I've read the Tao and the Upanishads and the Quran, Buddhism, Mohamed was just some dumb guy that wanted to be god, and the rest were profound and useful, not always applicable. Indirectly, the best ones talk about Unity. Whether they reveal it or not, they allude to the Unity of the Universe and Divine Law. Burned up another year or two spinning my wheels; truth is incredibly hard to find out there in the information age.
The question remained after many months and then years of work. Where do you find truth in evidence of fact strong enough to satisfy burden of proof by the scientific method? Only the Bible stands up to such a test.
The book by Randall Price, Secrets of the Dead Sea Scrolls, opened my eyes to the authenticity of the Bible presented in such an objective manner, the same Old Testament today as carried by the Prophets in scroll form, with differences you can count on one hand, mostly for clarity, not change in meaning. That in itself is a technological miracle, even with today's technology, completely textually accurate over 2000 years. Finally, validated, objective, factual evidence in fact just waiting to be discovered.
With an earlier degree in computer science, in an earlier life, I have been a part of the internet since its beginning and explosion into the information age. I was trained to gather the data, analyze data, run tests and simulations and build models and test the evidence empirically. Truth is not hard to confirm, just a lot of work. Atheists have no idea the work involved to confirm something, because they've never done it, and so have no fact, or they wouldn't be atheists; wow, contradicting confabulation.
The Bible is true and stands on its own literally. Science confirms the Bible. I have confirmed my starting assumptions and they are consistent with my belief. All is in the Bible is in order with reality, with what we see and can test in the present.
In scientific terms, Creationists claim evidence from the Bible with corroboration of the observed origin of matter, and it is consistent with our belief. Evolutionists cannot say the same, and are frequently inconsistent, like life from non-life, exactly the opposite of laws of the universe; nonsense. Like wishing on a star, wishing for aliens or some form of life out there, or that pesky missing link, when there should be millions/billions of evidences if true.
With the internet, came the mini-explosion of the New Atheist, and in the early Nineties, I had no answers. This Young-Earth Creationist was born at the turn of the millennia to combat the attack by atheism/humanism on the Bible and Christianity.
The Bible is not a science book, but I'm not aware of ANY instance, where the Bible DOES touch on science, that it has been proven incorrect. How can anyone DENY the evidence of the Bible and the scoreboard, when science corrects itself (proven incorrect?) almost daily?
Here are some of the evidences that came out of my work the last two decades.
Here are seven evidences for a Young Earth.
Five Evidences of Noah’s Flood
Four Geologic (technical) Evidences of Noah's Flood in the Grand Canyon
How many is that, 20 evidences in fact that what the Bible says is true, that it must be inspired by God to do that? Geez, you don't need much faith when you confirm something for yourself as true with facts in evidence times twenty.

God created Adam and Eve and put them in the Garden of Eden, a beautiful paradise. Their disobedience is what led to their death. But when God created humans, he also put in them the desire to live forever, not to die at some future time. Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has even put eternity in their heart; - - - - A loving father, God, would not create mankind with a desire and then not make that desire possible. God's purpose is for Adam and Eve's offspring to inhabit this earth in paradise conditions. Even though Adam and Eve disobeyed, that did not change God's purpose. - - - - The Scriptures indicate that God's purpose cannot be denied - Isaiah 55:10 & 11 - 10 For just as the rain and the snow pour down from heaven And do not return there until they saturate the earth, making it produce and sprout, Giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 So my word that goes out of my mouth will be. It will not return to me without results, But it will certainly accomplish whatever is my delight, And it will have sure success in what I send it to do - - - - God provided a ransom to buy back what Adam lost, the opportunity to live forever in a paradise earth. Note these two Scriptures - Romans 5:12 - That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned —. - - - - Romans 5:19 - For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one person many will be made righteous. - - - - Jesus provides mankind with a ransom - Matthew 20:28 - Just as the Son of man came, not to be ministered to, but to minister and to give his life as a ransom in exchange for many.” - - - - But just as the Scriptures indicate, unlike Adam, those that want to receive the benefits of this ransom must be obedient. Then, they will be in line for life in a new earth - 2 Peter 3:13 - But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell. - - - - Even though the earth is full of violence and wickedness, like never before in man's history, these very conditions indicate we are very close to the fulfillment of God's purpose to remove the wicked - Psalm 92:7 - When the wicked sprout like weeds And all the wrongdoers flourish, It is that they may be annihilated forever. - - - - Proverbs 2:21 & 22 - 21 For only the upright will reside in the earth, And the blameless will remain in it. 22 As for the wicked, they will be cut off from the earth, And the treacherous will be torn away from it. - - - - Psalm 37:10 & 11 - 10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. - - - - Psalm 37:29 - The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it. - - - - That is also what Jesus taught - Matthew 5:5 - Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth. - - - - Afterwards, even death is going to be removed - Revelation 21:4 - And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. - - - - 1 Corinthians 15:26 - And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing. - - - - It all comes back to the opposite of what Adam and Eve did. To experience these blessings, instead of being disobedient, we need to observe everything Jesus taught - Matthew 28:20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” - - - - 1 John 5:3 - For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome, - - - - It was not burdensome for Adam and Eve to refrain from eating the fruit of one tree. It would have revealed their depth of love for God and all his wonderful and beautiful provisions in the Garden of Eden. So I encourage you to look into the truth that is found in the Scriptures - John 17:17 - Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth. - - - - And examine them closely - Acts 17:11 . . . carefully examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. - - - - So that you can PROVE to yourself the good and acceptable will of God - Romans 12:2 - And stop being molded by this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, so that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. - - - - You can find out what the Bible can teach us at the link below, but ALWAYS compare it to the Scriptures to make sure you are indeed getting the truth, because Jesus said you will be able to recognize the truth - John 8:32 - and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. - - - -

I was born and raised into a Jehovahs Witness family. As I grew up, through my own personal study of the Bible I realized it is the truth. Life experiences I have had, both good and bad, have only deepened my love and faith in Jehovah. I recently lost my mom and I can honestly say that without Jehovah I wouldn’t be able to go on. But he gives me strength and hope. And because of that and so many other reasons I share in the door to door work. It isn’t always easy to put yourself out there, but when you have a love for God and people you just have to do it. Hopefully I can help at least one person to find comfort and answers in the Bible that I have had in my life. There is a link to a short video posted below. It might be more helpful.

I don't think there has been one moment in particular; I guess I don't see my spirituality as a fixed thing, but more as a work in progress-- an eternal journey. If one path no longer serves me, it would be time to travel another path. If I ever felt like my faith was set in stone it would mean I have closed myself off from learning/growing, defeating the point.
I have had poignant moments throughout my life that have reaffirmed my faith and the fact that I'm on the right path (at least for the last 25 years, lol, and the foreseeable future).
When I was seeking and learning and praying for guidance to help me find my way decades ago, I had a vision in a meditation of my Goddess and God .I've changed tremendously, in positive ways, and learned a lot. Practicing my faith made me a better person, which made life better. Over the years I have realized the lessons I've learned have helped me through challenges and overcome obstacles. I still have moving and meaningful spiritual experiences that help me advance along my path in life, my relationship with my deities, my practices and tenets, etc... It's just working for mem repeatedly.
You know what they say-- if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't believe in religion. But I do believe in the Universal Consciousness.
I believe in god because I have read many credible accounts of people's past-life regressions, near-death experiences, channeled messages, mediums, etc. Such as this:
In 1980, a woman, Catherine, was being hypnotized by psychiatrist Dr Brian Weiss as a solution to her uncontrollable anxiety and nightmares. Unexpectedly, while under hypnosis, Catherine began to narrate events from a previous lifetime and convey messages from the "in between lives" state. These are some of the messages she relayed while under hypnosis:
“There are different levels of learning, and we must LEARN some of them in the flesh. We must feel the pain. When you're in physical state in the flesh, you can feel pain; you can hurt. In spirit form you do not feel pain; there is only happiness, a sense of well-being.”
"We all must LEARN certain attitudes while we're in physical state. CHARITY, HOPE, FAITH, LOVE - we must all know these things and know them well."
"Our task is to LEARN, to become god-like through knowledge. We know so little. By knowledge we approach God, and then we can rest. Then we come back to teach and help others."
Many Lives Many Masters - Dr Brian Weiss
A graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School, Brian L. Weiss M.D. is Chairman Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.
And research:
"We invite you to view a list of books on reincarnation written by our faculty. The list includes books written by our director, Dr. Jim Tucker, as well as the long list of books authored by our founder, Dr. Ian Stevenson. Among the many ground breaking books by Dr. Stevenson is his comprehensive two volume set, Reincarnation and Biology: A Contribution to the Etiology of Birthmarks and Birth Defects, Volumes I and II. In this 22268 page, two volume set, Dr. Stevenson wrote about his extensive research into cases of birthmarks and birth defects which appeared to strongly correlate to memories of a past life in particular subjects. Dr. Stevenson also wrote an abridged version of this research called Where Reincarnation and Biology Intersect.
In 2013, Dr. Jim Tucker, appointed director of the Division of Perceptual Studies in 2014, authored his second book on the topic of cases of children who report memories of a previous life. In his most recent book Return to Life, Dr. Tucker describes the research into strong American cases being carried out at DOPS. In Tucker’s first book, Life Before Life, he reviews forty years of research into children who report memories of previous lives. This book contains some accounts of interesting American cases, as well as descriptions of Dr. Ian Stevenson’s classic cases in Asia.

I just believe in whatever god my mommy taught me when I was too young to question the nonsense because I was never taught how to exercise healthy skepticism and logic.

My faith was cemented in disaster, I was brought to my knees in life and I had a choice, to reach out for God, or embrace the hate. I took a chance and reached out for God, and he reached back in a most demonstrative way. He picked me up out of the ditch I was crashed and burned in and carried me along until I could walk for myself again
