Yeah, Trump's statement about George Popudopoulos was a lie. First he claimed he was this guy nobody ever heard of, despite even Fox news running the damning photo of George seated at the table along with his other foreign policy advisors - a photo Trump himself previously tweeted before he knew he would need to deny knowing him. Second, Trump said George was "a proven liar", a clear attempt to imply "so don't believe him when he testifies as to my guilt in the Russia matter."
