Why did he say "go to sleep" when I was trying to end it with him?

i just met this guy. i was telling him that him and i should stop talking and i was ending it with him. and i told him i am sorry. he then responds '"go to sleep"? why did he say that?

    He wanted to have the last word and could think of a more clever way to do it. Don't bother thinking about it any more, it's not worth it.
