Is there a way to get a list of all books published, or in libraries, or at least sold by a specific retailer?

I'm looking for a way to pick a book totally at random to buy and read. I used to be able to do this on booksamillion.com because I could browse a genre and replace the number in the address bar to go to a specific page. Now there is a limit to how far the list will go. WorldCat does the same.

What? Why? Do you not trust your own judgment? Are your taste" questionable?

How bout this: Go to the library and ask the librarian for a random book. Then you don't even have to pay for it.

Maybe the librarian could just grab a book that was just recently returned and hasn't been shelved yet. That way at least you can be assured that at least recently someone was interested in that book.

The endless scrolling javascript option seems to have taken over on many sites these days. You may have to come up with a new way of randomizing your choice. Maybe go to a library or store and just wander around, or work out a new system involving finding a name and then randomizing titles or something like that.
