There is never a hardware update. Maybe you are asking about your Apple software. If so, how will knowing the date of an update help you? The Software Update app is set to automatically update... unless you changed that. If you didn't change that, you can see when your system was last updated. If I knew which version of OS X you are using, I could tell you the complete details of how to see those dates.
Updates are for the existing basic software that is currently installed, such as Safari, QuickTime Player, and OS X (the operating system).
On the other hand, if you really are asking about the latest new OS, which Apple used to, and the rest of the world still does, call an "upgrade", that was released 2017-9-25. Upgrades are not a part of automatic updates. You must take several specific and intentional steps to upgrade the basic OS version.
