How effective are cancer screenings?

    Depends on the type of screening you're talking about. Colonoscopy, for example, has a MISS rate ( a false negative rate) of between 30 and 40%, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Mammography for breast cancer has a lower false positive rate.

    Nothing is perfect but I'd say they're over 80-90% effective, depending on the test.

    Worked for me. Found a cancer when it was tiny, only just visible on a scan.

    Most are very effective.

    We need appropriate screening tests for more types of cancer.

    Researchers are working on that.

    Depends on the type of screenings you are talking about. Most are very effective. Some only work to identify certain varieties of cancer.
