Why do people still fall for this scam? Its a known scam and even if you never heard of it don't you know that it seems suspicious.

The simple answer: Greed.
Someone will always be sufficiently naive to think that these guys are legitimate. Their doubts are drowned out by greed.

It doesn't cost anything to send out a bazillion emails, and if only a very small percentage of those bazillion people are too stupid to recognize it as a scam, you still make tons of money.

people are stupid. I have no sympathy for people who get scammed like that
