Are there any good books out there to learn Chinese phonetically? (im not sure I spelled that right)?

    I assume you mean "pinyin", since that is what everyone uses, it indicates tones, and it uses the same alphabet that English uses, unlike IPA, the International Phonetic Alphabet.

    I don't know of any books using that.

    If you already speak Chinese and are learning the characters, you would probably use "bopomofo" or "zhuyinfuhao".

    If you don't speak Chinese yet, you would probably use "pinyin".
