problems with my dad?

my dad is always mad at me for some reason. hes European and SUPER strict. Today, he left the house for a bit and i was studying. I started getting texts on my phone so i answered them. he returned home and i finished up with them, but he caught me. he took away my phone and pointed out that my grades arent too high. (2 As 2 Bs 2 C's). Knowing him, he will hold a grude and barely talk to me for a bit. im going to try apologizing

Stop apologizing, and ask for a tutor.

Getting mediocre grades isn't a personal flaw, it's a sign that you may need extra help in learning *how* to study. Your grades are an indicator. teaching and learning are a form of communication. It takes both sides to be successful, and it may be that the teacher isn't presenting things in a way you understand, or you aren't studying effectively, or you may just need help in general. Whatever it is, very few people get perfect grades in every subject, and don't apologize if you don't know why your grades weren't high.

Rather than making you feel badly, he should want to know what you need to make them better. Ask him to hire a tutor to help you learn, and promise to do your best. That's all he can ever expect, and making you feel terrible otherwise is simply emotional abuse. Learn to tell the difference, and if it continues, call the Boystown Hotline for advice.
