2 mL of water is placed in a graduated cylinder. A 22.6 gram stone is dropped in and the water level rises to 32.4 mL. Find the stone’s density. (SHOW ALL WORK)

    Supposing the water completely covers the stone:

    (22.6 g) / (32.4 mL - 2 mL) = 0.743 g/mL = 0.743 g/cm^3

    But since the calculated density is less than water, the stone will float, and the water will not cover it, so this question actually cannot be answered. Are you certain you copied all the numbers correctly?
