The US government, compared to most other governments, has been relatively "laissez faire" when it comes to energy. Unlike many nations, we do not have nationalized energy companies like Mexico, Brazil, China, Russia, and other energy exporters. Fossil fuel energy development has largely occurred because it has been profitable for private companies to do it.

In recent years, the US government has been more active in promoting alternative energy projects, by incentivizing private companies to develop things like biofuels, solar, wind, and other sources through tax credits and subsidies. This will likely be scaled back under the new administration.

They are definitely in favor of it! But cannot implement a proper plan to fully Tax, control, monopolize such energy sources! The problem is, Not with technology!, We already have it! The problem is, to make sure that the General Population, Doesn't get it for "Free" like Oxygen or Water for example....even-though water is something A lot of people pay for!
