I have a video card that has two hdmi ports. One is connected to a monitor with a hdmi cable and the other one connected to receiver with a hdmi cable. The receiver output to a T.V. The problem is that whenever i turn on my pc and monitor. The display on the monitor will be black. I will have to turn on my receiver for it to show anything. Is there a way to fix this?

Try just swapping the cables, or look in video settings on the PC and assign the monitor as the "primary" display.

[Right-click a blank area of the desktop and look in "screen resolution" for multi-monitor settings].
