Should I remove myself from her life?

So my ex-girlfriend is a really great person and I made a big mistake during our short time as a couple. In the end, she told me in time we can be better friends but nothing more. (We are both still in multiple group chats with our friend group) I respect her decision because it was my fault and I understand that but I have been thinking about her lately and started to think it might be best if I remove myself from her life. I still love her and every time I see a text or post on social media, or I see her in person at a party. I remember all the moments we shared and the part of me that loves her wants more, but I understand that is not possible anymore. I do not know what she thinks when she sees a post or a text from me or how she feels when she sees me in public but I do know it's not the same as before. This is why I think we can never actually be friends because I will want more and I cant put either of us through any pain anymore. Should I confront her one last time and thank her for our time together and tell her it's best for us to not be involved in each other's life?

what you need to do is stop the B.S of being friends and let her know what you want, let her know you cant be friends and move on, either she is on your life as a lover or nothing, then walk away she will let you know what she wants. be a man
