Both Book Bub and Amazon have free novels you can download onto your Laptop / Notebook or Smart Phone. There is a very large selection to choose from, from Romance to Adventure to Science Fiction. Scroll down the list and select 3 or 4 novels to download just in case one is a disappointment.
Be sure to take the charger for your device. Most airlines have a plug on the seat in front of you or under your seat, for recharging your devices. Be sure to order an adapter for use on your charger while in the UK. They use a different style plug than the USA. The adapters can be purchased from Amazon for a couple of dollars and you will receive it in the mail before you leave, if you buy now.
Or take a good set of earbuds with you. Most Airlines have a wide selection of movies for free, but you need a good set of ear buds or ear phones to plug in to hear the audio. There are also music channels you can listen to.
