That's a tough question. After awhile, it does get boring. Good idea to change gyms every year if you can. I treated it like a job, as if it was something I had to do at a certain time, regardless how I felt or the weather, etc... Take pictures (selfies) of yourself every month and compare them and look at the improvements you have made. When you go to a doctor and get lab tests done, the results will be good for cholesterol and stuff like that. Some people like music. I used to shoot basketball around as a reward for a hard workout.

There are so many forms of exercise out there.... literally tons! Try them out, find one you enjoy, and stick with it.
Seriously, exercising can be SO much fun. My best friend has been into Zumba for 6 years. She used to be overweight until she discovered a college Zumba class and she fell in love with it. She lost so much weight and she still does it twice a week now just to stay in shape.
I personally enjoy running, tennis, and ballet. Those are my favorites.
Once you find something that's fun, you will enjoy exercising.

I find blasting my music helps. Also I like to think of the calories screaming in pain as I burn them off, this helps motivate me.

By exercising in a way you enjoy. If there is a sport you like - do it. If not, then just take up walking. Bring along your iPod and listen to a book or podcast. Also if you have a stationary bike you can bike and watch your favorite TV show.
