Opinion: When a person makes a girl cry, is that person being too harsh, does the girl need to grow, or does it depend on the situation?

There was an incident I saw where a college bookstore employee made a girl cry over the BI word she uttered to herself. He yelled at her, and went on and on like a nut (in my opinion) + threatened to have her kicked out of college over this. I think he is screwed up for doing this to her.

Update:

grow up I meant.

Update 2:

Who do you really think would've been n trouble for this incident? The young lady or the man who works in the bookstore? I think he would've been despite of her cussing & him saying she could get kicked out for it.

The situation you describe, the employee is clearly in the wrong. No retail establishment would want their employees to act like that.

But I can imagine other situations. that the girl would be in the wrong

The worker in this case was WAY out of line and should be canned and he should apologize to the girl. He embarrassed her in public - that's just wrong.

It depends on the situation a lot of the time, but also on the people involved. Sometimes the girl could be being a baby, but maybe she has suffered from abuse and is scared of shouting or something.
