Why do the religious pretend to know things they clearly don't?

I didn't think biology was a religion.

From what you say I have to conclude astronomy is a religion also.

Not being sure any one has actually counted the number of atoms in a mole that would qualify chemistry as a religion.

Then there is history with all that "prehistoric" fantasy stories.

Geology also must be a religion, after all they have things that can not be proven that are accepted just because that is what the "book says"!

Just maybe this is not a religion only problem- it seems that it happens in every field I know of and more then likely in ones I don't have a clue even exist.

If you believe in God, you're not lying. You're not pretending. You may be wrong, but you're not pretending or lying. Who's the one lying and demonstrating arrogance? It isn't me. Prove or give evidence that I'm lying when I say I believe in God.

On second thought, maybe you don't know the definition of "lie." Ignorance coupled with arrogance abounds on this site.

Scientists have also said that they are sure this planet was made habitable by intelligent life. They truly believe in aliens or persons who did not live on this planet when it was made habitable. In reading the steps needed to make a planet habitable, I was amazed at how close the creator of this one followed that pattern. Humans have not been here that long but the planet and animals have been here a lot longer. At the planetarium in San Francisco has a hall way that shows when each thing came into existence as it snakes down hallways and turns and shows amazing creations. Then when you get almost to the end a short block of creation shows humans. So we are a new creation. Perhaps he has waiting long enough to get enough righteous people to fill the earth.

I agree there's a few crazy Uncle type of Pastors who make that jump from being well versed in theology to describing the curtains and forced air heating system of heavenly palaces. That's a little silly.

But you're missing one of the tenets of Abrahamic religions, Noetism; or "I just know! I don't know how I know.."

The same can be said of you. God's inspired word is being fulfilled, things written thousands of years ago are coming true just as outlined in the Scriptures, even you yourself are part of those fulfilling Scriptures and your so blinded by Satan you can't even see it.
