Why do people expect free handouts??

I advertised too teach anyone my 30yrs of experience in the barbering industry at a very low fee(less than half of what other barber coarses charge).Even offered a full time job after training is complete.Had alot of people interested but not willing too pay. They either want to be paid while learning or just learn for free!!! I don't understand the thinking nowadays, everyone wants it on a silver platter!!!

Apprentices get generally paid, but do grunt work. Students don't do grunt work but generally pay their teacher.

It really depends what situation you offer. But just pick the people who are willing to pay. They are the ones who are motivated and want to learn. The others are probably not serious about it and just a waste of your time anyway., so no loss to your business.

If you are going to charge the customers that the students cut the hair of then they deserve part of the money

when you don't charge what the barber schools do they think it is not worth it and probably think you are a scam

Did you lay out what they would earn after they were employed by you? Kids seeking such training are probably broke and also need to have something to pay for some expenses they would incur. Employment is very high particularly in the lower wage jobs, so you would really need to convince someone that their investment in you as a teacher would pay off vs just working at an Amazon warehouse. Otherwise serious trainees may still be attracted to a school that would actually offer a real barber's licence and give them a student's loan.

Because they were privileged kids growing up and who always had mommy and daddy to rely on and since they were spoiled they expect he world to bend over backward just for them.
