How to customize Excel s "drag to extend series" feature.?

So...I can t figure out how to ask the internet best, so let s see if people know!

Here s the formula:

Cell B3 =VLOOKUP(B2, Copy of Book2 !A2:B19,2,)

Cell B4 =VLOOKUP(B2, Copy of Book2 !A2:C19,3,)

The end destination cell increases by 1 column, and the column index number increase by 1, whilst everything else remains the same.

Even when I continue the pattern in multiple cells, it doesn t pick up on my pattern and makes it s own computer-logic pattern. Stupid thing doesn t read my mind. Is there any way I can reprogram is pattern logic to fit the bill here?

In my experience, you can t, you just have to think more for the computer, so I will take that as well.
