there's videos on youtube of some guy who put together a completely automated sentry turret armed with an auto fire paintball gun. he made videos demonstrating it in his backyard. it fired at any moving target with good accuracy. it was just a stationary mount for the gun with a couple servos, a camera, the whole thing controlled by a laptop running his software. this was in 2008. setting up something like this with real weapons is obviously no more difficult. the main challenge, if any, is handling iff
