Do I have to tell my trainer I'm leaving for good?

I told her I'm going to stop coming for a while because of the money, and although I have money issues the main reason is that I want to try a place that suits me better. Place that has better instructors who don't pay attention only to those who give them bunch of money.

I've been there for 8 years, but we're not that close. She doesn't have a good temperament and there will also be 5-6 riders and I'd have to say that in front of everyone so I'm hesitating. Also, she will sooner or later find out I'm at a different barn...BTW I don't have a horse.

Unless you have something in place like pre-booked lessons or have a spot held for you, there is no real reason to give any information why or where you are going.

It is polite to, but if you know it will only blow up, just don't bother contacting them. You've said you are taking a break. Leave it at that.

If it might not go badly, just explain that you appreciate everything she's done for you but (your moving to a stables closer, it's cheaper and money is tight right now, the stables are more specialist in what you want to do, you wantt to further your riding by branching out and having different insturctors and different horses)

No, not if you've already told her you are stopping for "awhile" and have not asked her to hold open your spot or guaranteed a return date.

If you don't care about being honest, then it doesn't matter what you say.

You have already told her. Just stop scheduling, and don't start back up again.

No, you don't ever have to say a word to your ex-trainer again.

You don't owe her a thing - you paid for your lessons, and now you're done. No explanations or apologies are necessary.

You've moved on. I'm sure you'll find a trainer who works better for you; if not, you haven't burned the bridge with this one by publicly (or privately) telling her you don't like her.

Good Luck with your new trainer!

It's really up to you how you handle this. This is a professional relationship and not a friendship. You are paying money for a service, and you are not happy with that service.

You are free to find a trainer who suits you better. You can put that in whatever tuner terms you choose.

    Its nice to.

I would call her and let her know that after taking your break from riding, that you will be looking around for a different barn that is a bit more affordable. Be sure to thank her for her time, even if she isn't wonderful she isn't the worst, so thank her for all that she has done for you and that you wish her the best.

If she is a professional, she will understand. Unfortunately many people have a tantrum when they loose a person they have been working with for so long.
