Explain the specific heat of water.?

    The specific heat is the amount of heat per unit mass required to raise the temperature by one degree. For water it is fairly high meaning that it takes a lot of energy to warm water and therefore water is capable of storing a lot of heat. This has implications in our global weather and things like cooking....
