Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Can anybody justify or explain this double-ridiculousness?

A question HERE, asked "how are you feeling today?" I replied, "pretty miserable, about a 2 or a 3 out of 10". Some 'trusted member of the answers community' reported my honest answer, and i lost some points. I appealed, assuming it was a no-brainer that i would win my appeal, but by some perverse alternate-universe logic, i LOST my appeal.

Sometimes when the question is a violation, the answers will be too.

That's a chat violation. YA IS NOT and NEVER has been chat forum. YA is SUPPOSED to be knowledge exchange forum with STRICT question answer format.. If you want to chat on line, you can sign up with one or more of the "new' Yahoo groups or do it on Facebook or Snapchat or somewhere else online.

The question AND your answer were BOTH chat violations.

Copied and pasted right grom the YA community guidleines:

"...Chatting or otherwise violating the question-and-answer format.

Yahoo Answers is a community of questions and answers, not a chat room. If a post is neither a question nor an answer, it doesn't belong here. If you prefer to have discussions or chat with others, please use one of Yahoo's other community services, such as Yahoo Groups. Read more..."

Chat questions cannot be answered with any response except chat.

    NOT chatting halts chat violations.

Both the question and your answer are considered "Chatting" -- not looking for actual knowledge and therefore violations.
