Would'nt it be cool if we could actually go back in time and redo our life again?

Yes, I would have run for President against Jimmy Carter. He was the worst President America has ever had.

Not really. You'd just screw up in different ways.

Not really, because you would NOT be the SAME person you are now.

For a very long time i wanted to be 3 years old again knowing what i knew in 2014, but I've realized that if I knew what i knew when I was 61 years old i really would NOT be 3 years old.. Making mistakes and having failures , small and big is what makes us WHO WE ARE..

I am no longer as optimistic about the future as was when i graduated from college the FIRST time in May 1975. NOW I know how hard graduate school Really is and i DID survive it, but ONLY because i went back after i dropped out of graduate school for 7 YEARS.. One GOOD thing that happened in those 7 years was i accepted my self AS i am with ALL my faults and imperfections..

There's NOTHING that will replace life experience. There are SOME things you can learn ONLY in the the university of life experience and that includes discovering that DARN! you grew up even though you refused to so that FOR DECADES..

If you COULD relive your life you would no longer BE YOU. I have NO desire to repeat the year i was 14 years Old OR 2009 - 2010 When i was hospitalized for 5 months and 1 week and was in a medically induced coma that SAVED MY LIFE for 6 weeks. I also have NO desire to relive the lat 8 days because one of my cats died on January 5, 2018.

If I could go back in time I would have to relive the SAME life. Now given that I have had a great life this would be equally as enjoyable as it was the first time.

You see if I truly went back in time, what did I know of the future at that time? Nothing.

So that is what I must know of the future.

In other words it would have to be EXACTLY the same as it was the first time.

What you are referring to is some sort of parallel universe where I could go to some point in time, and then make different choices.

The trouble is that if you went back in time you could not know the future so that you can't use today's experience to make better choices in the past.

    Oh bother.

But if somehow I could magically go back into what I was yet knowing what I know today then I could avoid some of the mistakes I made. That might be good. Yet if I knew that I was going to fall off my motorcycle tomorrow at about 9 am and it was going to hurt. I was going to be pretty sore for a couple of months. Now that would be far worse than it happening without me knowing it was about to happen.

No...imagine all the good things that have happened in your life. The things that make you who you are. If any of those had been avoided (by making the "better" choice) then you would be a different, and potentially much less mature/strong, person.

Unless you mean like just re-loading a previous save over and over, in which case you could make super daring choices so long as you could definitely just pause and go back again. That could be fun, but you do need to keep a sense of perspective.

no......iv had a damn good life. if i went back in time i could make a few wrong choices and end up having a really crappy life

Not really. I'm sure I'd make the same mistakes over again.

yes but then again there are some things I wouldn't be able to avoid and would have to experience all over again, sigh. id only go back so far or something.

  • Nah, That's more like scary.

Yes it would, I would change so many wrong decisions that had an impact.
