My part time NON federal work study on campus job paychecks has FICA taxes witheld. Is this normal?

    Everyone pays FICA taxes on all wages up to the limit

    No, not everyone pays fica/mc taxes. My on campus job did not withhold for these and I assure you this was legal. My family was "too rich" for me to have an actual "work study job." It all depends on interpretation as to whether you are a student first or an employee first.

    All jobs withhold FICA/Medicare - you donot get this back when/if you file. You should also have federal and state income taxes withheld unless you declared yourself exempt.
