I need one more answer for "How are Power and Persecution related?"
My 2 answers so far are
1. According to the dictionary, Persecution is being hostile and ill-treating someone because of a different race, religion or political stance. NOW with that in mind, a common way people gain power over one another is fear. Fear drives people into submission.
2. People with power persecute without thinking, if you have power most often you are also persecuting someone.

People with power and people who persecute innocent individuals do not have the same concepts of fear and conscience as everyone else. They are so driven in their desire to achieve whatever they want -- even if it means chasing someone down or taking someone down -- that they are often oblivious to laws, moral questions, the social / political / psychological impact of their actions, etc.
