Patriarch: Robert (The Usurper; seized Iron Throne from Targaryens; died after a dubious hunting accident which was actually orchestrated by The Lannisters)

Stannis (brother): Declared himself the true King upon Robert's death and went to open war with The Lannisters

Renly (brother): Gay lover of Loras Tyrell, also declared himself King; murdered by witchcraft of Stannis's "Red Woman", Melisandre

TULLY - Ruling family of The Riverlands, Base of Power: Riverrun

Catelyn's family, father Hoster was Lord of the Riverlands, brother Edmure forced to marry a Frey at The Red Wedding

ARRYN - Powerful family in Eastern Westeros, base of Power: The Vale

Patriarch Jon was "Lord of the Vale" and Hand of Robert Baratheon until he died under mysterious circumstances (murdered by Cersei Lannister after he discovered the truth of her children's parentage)

Lyssa - Jon Arryn's wife, sister of Catelyn (Tully) Stark

Robin - Their young son, far too weak and coddled to become "Protector of the Vale" after Jon Arryn's death
